3/4 cup or 170 grams of room temperature unsalted butter
1 2/3 cups of granulated sugar (333 grams)
3 eggs
1 tablespoon or 15 ML of vanilla extract
1 cup of buttermilk
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare two eight-inch pans with butter and parchment paper.
Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder and set aside.
Cream the butter until smooth, then add the sugar and mix until fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, letting each one incorporate before adding the next.
Mix in the vanilla extract.
Alternate adding the dry mixture and buttermilk in batches, mixing until just combined.
Divide the batter evenly between the two pans and bake for about 30 minutes.
Let the cakes cool completely before frosting with your favorite buttercream.
