Prepare the tofu by cutting it into cutlets or breaking it apart for an organic look.
Create a buttermilk-based marinade with vinegar to tenderize the tofu. Alternatively, use a plant-based yogurt or sour cream with added vinegar.
Use a food processor to create a breading mixture with corn flakes or substitute with bread crumbs/corn flour.
Coat the tofu in the marinade and flour mixture twice for a thick crust.
Bake the tofu until crispy and let it sit for 10-15 minutes after removing from the oven.
Prepare the sauce by melting butter (or using olive oil/nut butter) and mixing in cayenne pepper and hot sauce.
Brush or spoon the sauce over the tofu before serving. Adjust heat level by modifying cayenne pepper and hot sauce amounts.
