Ingredients

  • 550 grams of flour (half Manitoba, half 00)
  • 7 grams of dehydrated brewer's yeast
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 200 ml warm milk
  • 60 grams of sugar
  • 75 grams of sunflower seed oil
  • 2 eggs
  • Grated rind of half an orange
  • 1 sachet of vanillin

Instructions

  1. Mix 550 grams of flour, 7 grams of dehydrated brewer's yeast, and 2 teaspoons of sugar to activate the levitation.
  2. In another bowl, pour 200 ml of warm milk. Add 60 grams of sugar, 75 grams of sunflower seed oil, 2 eggs, grated rind of half an orange, and a sachet of vanillin. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients until a consistent dough forms. Knead until soft and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a bowl, make a cross incision, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise until doubled in volume (approximately 2 hours).
  5. After rising, knead the dough lightly and roll it out to form a rectangle about 1.5 centimeters thick. Shape the donuts using a pastry ring and a piping bag.
  6. Place the donuts on parchment paper for a second leavening of around 20 minutes.
  7. Fry the donuts in hot oil until golden brown, turning them a couple of times. Remove excess oil with tongs.
  8. Coat the donuts in sugar.
