Ingredients

  • Water
  • Pea gravel
  • Portland cement
  • Sand

Instructions

  1. Start by adding a small amount of water to the mixing container. Remember, you can always add more water later, but it's hard to thicken the mix if it becomes too watery.
  2. Add pea gravel to the water and mix well. The ratio is one part pea gravel to one part Portland cement.
  3. Incorporate the Portland cement into the mix and blend thoroughly.
  4. Gradually add one part of sand to the mix and blend until well combined.
  5. Add the second part of sand to the mix. The ratio is two parts sand to the mix.
  6. Adjust the water as needed to achieve the desired consistency. The mix should be runny.
  7. Pour the mix into the prepared molds, filling them about two-thirds full.
  8. Shift the molds back and forth gently to remove air bubbles. You can also twist them slightly for better results.
  9. Top off the molds with more mix if needed, ensuring they are filled adequately.
  10. Allow the excess water to run off by tilting the molds slightly. Give them a gentle shake to settle the mix.
  11. Smooth out the bottom of the molds using a scraper or trowel to ensure they sit level.
  12. Let the molds cure according to the cement's instructions before demolding.
  13. Note: For larger batches, adjust the ingredient amounts accordingly.
