In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Whisk and set aside.
Mash ripe bananas in a separate bowl, then add egg, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Whisk to combine.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently fold together. Do not overmix.
Heat a pan over medium-low heat and add a pat of butter. Pour 1/3 cup of batter per pancake onto the pan.
Cook for about 2 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and bubbles form on top.
Flip the pancake and cook the second side until done.
Repeat with the remaining batter.
Serve warm and enjoy the fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth banana pancakes.
