In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just blended.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
Cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
