Toast Sichuan pepper on medium-low heat until fragrant and grind it up.
Crush garlic and mince Dobin jiang chili bean paste.
Fry minced pork or beef with Sichuan side zo oil, chili bean paste, garlic, and chili powder.
Add stock, soy sauce, algae or xiaochun, and sugar paste liquid. Simmer for a couple of minutes.
Simmer soft tofu in salt water until slightly swollen. Drain and cut into cubes.
Add tofu cubes to the liquid and simmer for about 3.5 minutes.
Add toasted ground Sichuan pepper and vinegar. Thicken with corn starch slurry.
Turn off the heat and add sesame oil. Stir.
Garnish with green onions and serve.
