Ingredients

  • Tempeh
  • Soy sauce
  • Brown rice vinegar
  • Brown sugar
  • Chilies
  • Lemon
  • Chili garlic sauce
  • Cornstarch
  • Water
  • Sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds
  • Red cabbage
  • Black pepper
  • Salt
  • Green onions
  • Rice

Instructions

  1. Marinate Tempeh in a mixture of soy sauce, brown rice vinegar, brown sugar, chilies, lemon, and chili garlic sauce. Let it sit for at least an hour.
  2. Sear the marinated Tempeh in a pan until heated through.
  3. Prepare a sauce by thickening a mixture of cornstarch and water with the marinade. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Cook rice according to package instructions.
  5. Sauté red cabbage in oil until crispy and slightly burnt. Season with salt, black pepper, and sesame oil. Add sesame seeds.
  6. Blanch green onions in boiling water for 5 minutes, then cool in a bowl of cold water.
  7. Squeeze excess water from the blanched green onions and add them to the pan with the cabbage. Cook for 2 minutes.
  8. Serve the Tempeh over rice with the garlic ginger sauce, red cabbage, and green onions. Enjoy!
