Heat oil in a pan, add cardamom pods and cinnamon stick until they sizzle, then add sliced onions. Cook for 5-6 minutes until softened.
Add grated ginger, garlic, sliced green chilies, and tomato. Cook for 5 minutes until softened.
Add chicken, salt, chili powder, and curry powder. Cook on high heat for 5 minutes until chicken gets some color.
Pour in coconut milk, mix well, and simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes with a lid on.
Garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
