Crack in one whole egg and add vanilla extract. Beat well.
Add milk and mix until the batter is liquefied and the butter is emulsified.
Add salt, baking powder, and flour. Mix until just barely combined. The batter should have small lumps.
Let the batter rest for a few minutes.
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Rub with butter.
Pour batter onto the skillet to form a circle. Cook until bubbles form on the surface.
Flip the pancake and cook until done.
Repeat with remaining batter.
