Ingredients
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 large egg
- 360 grams all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- For the glaze: 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1/2 cup whole milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Warm whole milk to 105-110 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix in 1 teaspoon of sugar and active dry yeast. Set aside for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a stand mixer, combine granulated sugar, melted butter, and egg. Add the foamy yeast mixture and stir to combine.
- Add all-purpose flour and salt to the wet mixture. Mix with a dough hook until a shaggy dough forms, then increase speed until a smooth, elastic dough is achieved.
- Oil a bowl, transfer the dough, cover, and let it rise for 90 minutes until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough, cut into donut shapes, and let rise for 20 minutes.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing melted butter, whole milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Air fry the donuts in batches at 350 degrees Fahrenheit: donuts for 8 minutes, donut holes for 6 minutes.
- Dip the warm donuts in the glaze and enjoy.
