From a YouTube video Watch the original
Ingredients
- Electric asteroid-mining spaceship
- Space mining and processing equipment
- Giant mirrors
- Grinders
- Centrifuges
- Heat shielded capsules filled with gas bubbles
Instructions
- Build an electric asteroid-mining spaceship to travel to asteroids.
- Find a near-Earth asteroid and secure it by vaporizing material with a laser or stopping the rotation with thrusters.
- Wait for the right moment to push the asteroid in the right direction to take it near the Moon and put it in a stable orbit around Earth.
- Install the space mining and processing equipment in orbit and move it towards the asteroid.
- Use giant mirrors to focus sunlight and heat up asteroid rock to boil out the gases.
- Use grinders to break up the dried rocks into gravel and dust, and centrifuges to separate dense from light elements.
- Extract precious metals from the asteroid's mass.
- Load the precious metals into heat shielded capsules filled with gas bubbles.
- Drop the capsules into the oceans where ships tow them away.
- Use the infrastructure and experience gained to make more sophisticated missions and eventually stop mining on Earth.
