Wash the yellow moong dal in a colander under running water.
In a pressure cooker, add the washed dal, chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder, and water (about 500 ml).
Cook in the pressure cooker on medium flame for 10-15 minutes or until two whistles.
Optionally, for a smoother consistency, run the cooked dal through a sieve.
In a kadai, heat ghee and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, ginger, garlic, green chili, curry leaves, and hing. Cook until fragrant.
Pour the tadka mixture into the cooked dal and mix well.
Add fresh coriander and mix again.
Serve the Yellow Dal Tadka with rice or chapati. Enjoy!
