Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (240 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 grams)
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (110 grams)
- 1 egg, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (10 mL)
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Baking spray
- Flaked sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spray a 10-inch skillet with baking spray.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until almost combined.
- Add the chocolate chips and mix for 30 seconds until evenly distributed.
- Press the cookie dough into the prepared skillet.
- Sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 22-25 minutes or until the edges are browned and the center is cooked.
- Sprinkle with flaked sea salt (optional).
- Serve with ice cream.
