Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 and 1/4 cups (270 grams) all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (226 grams) room temperature butter
- 3/4 cup (150 grams) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (165 grams) light brown sugar
- 1 large room temperature egg
- 1 tablespoon (15 mL) vanilla extract
- Chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until almost combined.
- Add the chocolate chips and mix until just combined.
- Chill the dough in the fridge for at least an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Scoop the dough into roughly 1 and 1/2 inch sized balls and place them on a baking sheet.
- Place 3 chocolate chips on top of each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden and set.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
