Modern Spiced Mulled Wine with Festive Spice Nuts (Original video)
Ingredients:
Red wine
Cardamom pods
Cloves
Star anise
Cinnamon stick
Lemongrass
Orange zest
Orange wedges
Demerara sugar
Stem ginger
Ginger syrup
Brazil nuts
Almonds
Walnuts
Hazelnuts
Pistachios
Salt
Cayenne pepper
Paprika
Rosemary
Instructions:
Gently heat red wine in a pan.
Create a fragrant bouquet garni with cardamom pods, cloves, star anise, cinnamon stick, lemongrass, and orange zest wrapped in muslin cloth. Tie it securely and add it to the wine.
Add orange wedges, Demerara sugar, stem ginger, and ginger syrup to the wine. Heat gently for 4-5 minutes without boiling.
For the Festive Spice Nuts: Toast Brazil nuts, almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, and pistachios in a pan until they release their natural oils. Add salt, cayenne pepper, paprika, and rosemary. Toss to coat the nuts thoroughly.
