Crispy Corn Flake French Toast with Banana Foster Sauce (Original video)
Ingredients:
4 eggs
1/4 cup brown sugar
Allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg
Splash of heavy cream or half and half
Vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Challah bread slices
Corn flakes
Bananas
Walnuts
Jamaican dark rum
Banana liqueur
1/2 stick of butter
1 cup brown sugar
Cinnamon, nutmeg
Pinch of salt
Vanilla extract
Instructions:
Prepare the custard by beating 4 eggs, adding brown sugar, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Soak bread slices in the custard.
Crush corn flakes, coat soaked bread slices, and fry until golden brown and crispy.
In a skillet, melt butter, add brown sugar, vanilla extract, walnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Add bananas and cook until caramelized.
Infuse rum with banana liqueur, ignite it, and add to the skillet to create the Banana Foster sauce.
Top the crispy French toast with the Banana Foster sauce and walnuts.
