Prepare the rib rub by combining brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, and kosher salt in a bowl. Mix thoroughly.
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs using a spoon.
Apply the rib rub generously on both sides of the ribs.
Place each half of the ribs into a gallon-sized plastic bag and add a teaspoon of liquid smoke to each bag.
Seal the bags using the water displacement method or a vacuum sealer.
Cook the ribs sous vide at 165°F for 12 hours.
After cooking, place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil and bake at 350°F to bring them up to temperature.
Optionally, chill the ribs in an ice bath for storage.
When ready to serve, apply BBQ sauce on the ribs and broil for a minute on each side.
Serve and enjoy the tender, flavorful sous vide BBQ ribs.
