Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
In a bowl, mash ripe bananas.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Cream butter and sugar, then beat in eggs and vanilla extract.
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
Fold in mashed bananas and chopped walnuts (if using).
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Allow the banana bread to cool before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
